About Us

The 27th annual Summer Academic Program for Elementary School Students (SAPESS) is a five week program of morning classes for students in grades 1 through 6. Academic and enrichment classes allow students the opportunity to participate in learning experiences that are rigorous and fun. Highly qualified credentialed teachers are our instructional leaders, and many of our teacher II assistants are credential candidates, enrolled in the CSUN teacher education program. Students attend classes daily Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M.-12:45 P.M.

Children are supervised by adults at all times. Students in primary grades are escorted to the bathrooms prior to each class; students in upper elementary grades are escorted to the bathroom after each class. Classes are typically held in the following buildings: Sierra Hall, Jerome Richfield Hall, Manzanita Hall, Science, and the College of Education.
